In Millennium Square, Leeds Film will be showing a special outdoor screening of Yorkshire classic Kes from 3pm today.

The 1969 Ken Loach film classic focused on the bond between a Barnsley boy and his kestrel is a film everyone should see at least once. Tickets cost £6 for those under 14 and £10.50 for adults and can be bought on the Leeds Film website.

For the whole of Yorkshire Day weekend, the National Coal Mining Museum in Wakefield will host a family fun extravaganza from 10.30am on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Alongside sharing stories of pit lasses, there'll be brass band performances, craft workshops, and even sport activities. The event is free to attend but parking costs £7.50.
