Extreme Brexit even worse
Yorkshire Evening Post

Geoff Holloran's frustrations with Brexit are understandable (YEP letters, August 18).
-
Many people feel that the promises made during the referendum campaign have not been delivered, and that the UK is now stuck in an economic situation that isn't working for anyone.
The real target of this frustration shouldn't be groups like Leeds for Europe, or even the European Union - but the reality of the deal that was negotiated.
A more extreme Brexit, as Mr Holloran suggests with his support for Nigel Farage, would only make things worse; creating even more friction for our businesses and a harder economic future for our country.
Thankfully, minds are changing. A recent YouGov poll found that one in four (24 per cent) of 2016 Leave voters now support rejoining the EU (YouGov, June 16-17).
These are people who, like Mr Holloran, are tired of the mess, but have concluded that the best way forward is a more positive, pro-European approach.
