After several long-drawn out and ultimately unsuccessful transfer sagas, Newcastle United have signed striker Nicolas Woltemade and it's fair to say that the manner in which the deal came about was one that took almost everyone by surprise.

Magpies fans have had to put up with their fair share of false storms this transfer window after failed moves for Joao Pedro, Hugo Ekitike and Benjamin Sesko, who opted for a move to Old Trafford as opposed to St James' Park.
