This time, Blanc is heading to a church in a leafy upstate New York hamlet, where enthusiastic young priest Jud Duplenticy is an assistant to the charismatic firebrand Monsignor Jefferson Wicks, who rules his flock with a rod of iron. When a murder takes place, local police chief Geraldine Scott joins forces with Blanc to find the killer, a case which has a personal twist.
