Jeep ride with legends: A story of 1983

The year was 1983. It was the time when India had lifted its first Cricket World Cup. The entire nation was overjoyed. And Chandigarh was no exception. The City Beautiful was buzzing with pride and celebrations as the legendary team captain Kapil Dev hailed from the city.
At that time, I was pursuing my LL. M at Punjab University’s Law Department. With the university’s annual fest approaching, the entire World Cup winning team was invited to the campus. Since I owned an open white Willy Jeep, I was entrusted with a duty to bring the heroes from Kapil Dev's residence in Sector 16 to the University Grounds.
