Tavistock drawn at home after victory in the Cup
Western Morning News
|August 19, 2025
TAVISTOCK’S reward for their superb 2-1 win at Barnstaple Town in the preliminary round of the FA Cup is a home first qualifying round clash against Alton or Swindon Supermarine.
Stuart Henderson’s Lambs were viewed as underdogs as they travelled to north Devon at the weekend, despite playing a league higher than Western League Barum, given the youthful nature of their squad and Barnstaple’s bigger budget.
However, Ryan White put the Lambs ahead on the stroke of halftime only for former Tavistock striker Josh Parry to level things on 70 minutes. But two minutes later, Jack Crago took down a long ball and turned sharply before curling a delightful left-footed shot into the top corner from 20 yards to seal the win.
‘The Lambs can now look forward to welcoming either Alton, who ply their trade in the Step Five Combined Counties Premier Division South, or divisional rivals Swindon Supermarine, who played out a 1-1 draw at the weekend and were due to replay last night.
