A DECISION to start charging people to park at one of the largest park and ride facilities in Cornwall will cause "considerable pain" to nearby residents, according to a councillor.

- LEE TREWHELA

Cllr Dulcie Tudor, who represents Threemilestone on the outskirts of Truro, believes that the plan by Cornwall Council to start charging people who park in Truro's park and ride car park at Langarth will exacerbate parking problems in the neighbouring village of Threemilestone. The facility is based next to Truro Sports Hub, home of Truro City FC.

Following a period of public consultation, the council approved an off-street parking order in January to introduce a parking-only charge of £1 for drivers who park at the Langarth and Tregurra park and rides but who do not use the bus services into the city.
