Trust hosts Helios to fire imaginations

A HUGE new artwork inspired by the sun is coming to Plymouth next month.

For eight days only, visitors can experience 'Helios, created by internationally renowned artist Luke Jerram, at Market Hall in Devonport.

Commissioned by the National Trust, the sculpture - seven metres in diameter and internally lit - takes its name from the Ancient Greek personification of the sun and follows Jerram’s acclaimed astronomical artworks Museum of the Moon, Gaia and Mars.

Plymouth is one of just a handful of UK locations chosen by the National Trust to host Helios in 2025, with the artwork open to the public from Saturday, September 20 until Sunday, September 28.
