TRIBUTES have been paid to David Jackson, a passionate champion of the Welsh arts sector, who has died.

David Jackson, was a passionate champion of the Welsh arts sector National Youth Arts Wales
(National Youth Arts Wales)
Mr Jackson played a major part in the arts, holding several positions including head of music for Wales at the BBC, interim director of the BBC National Orchestra and Chorus of Wales.
He was also vice principal at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama as well as a managing director of the National Children's Orchestras of Great Britain.
Most recently, he was artistic director of the BBC Cardiff Singer of the World and chair of the Board of Trustees at the National Youth Arts Wales.
