Three care home staff sacked as furious families speak out
Western Mail
|October 18, 2025
THREE staff have been sacked by a controversial nursing home in connection to concerns about “resident care”.
Church View Care Home in Caerphilly
It comes after a complaint was made about the care of a dementia patient living at Church View care home in Caerphilly.
Separately some families of residents at Church View which is run by one of the UK's biggest care home operators HC-One have written to the Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW) watchdog with allegations of “poor personal care and dignity, emotional distress, unexplained injuries, and poor cleanliness” at the home.
HC-One says it is investigating and “taking swift action”.
Last month we reported a “small number” of staff at Church View had been suspended following a complaint “surrounding the care given to a dementia patient”.
Now HC-One has said: “We conducted a thorough investigation into the concerns raised about resident care back in the spring and following a full disciplinary process we have taken the decision to dismiss the three colleagues involved.
“New leadership has been established in the home with additional support in place from our senior regional leadership team who together are investigating subsequent concerns raised by relatives and will be taking swift action to address these.”
