The beach-side cabin selling top-tier toasties
Western Mail
|April 04, 2026
Caban Mwnt overlooks one of Wales' most stunning beaches and has been run by the same family since 1982 - now it's open again for 2026, as Kathryn Williams reports
The cheese toasties come with a gorgeous view at Caban Mwnt, right
IF THERE'S one spot you could rush to on sunny spring days, Ceredigion beach Mwnt might be on your list.
Here, you can relax on the golden sands, stare out at the Irish Sea and you might even be lucky enough to spot some dolphins.
You can also tuck into delicious toasties, burgers, salads and coffees at the clifftop hut - Caban Mwnt.
The hut has reopened for the 2026 season for beachgoers and walkers and talk about a breakfast, lunch or coffee with a view!
Mwnt is a coastal spot which is home to a golden cove, a couple of campsites, the Grade I-listed 13th century Holy Cross church and Caban Mwnt, which is pleasingly modern in its offering of coffee and snacks, and sells great fridge magnets too.
It's been owned by the same family for more than 40 years and this spring and summer Rachel Linfoot and her team are back serving those who pay a visit to the cove, often voted one of Wales' best beaches.
