It's not all quiet on the console front during the warmer months of the year... here are five fantastic titles to get your teeth into before the autumn arrival of GTA VI

SUMMER is in full flow, and as such the games market is slowing down.

It's traditional for the warmer months to see fewer releases, but this year’s summer season seems the slowest in recent memory.

That's no doubt due to the fact this autumn’s games schedule is absolutely packed, as developers rush to get titles out ahead of Grand Theft Auto VI's release in November.

But don’t despair, there are still a few titles worth your attention this June - especially for those of you who own a Switch 2.

Fans of classic RPGs get a remake of 2001's Gothic 1, while the Nintendo 64 classic Star Fox, gets a rebirth. There are also ridiculous alien adventures to be had, as Destroy All Humans! also makes its debut on the Nintendo handheld.

‘Star Fox (PEGI 7)

Platform: Switch 2

Release: June 25

Nintendo is hoping this Star Fox 64 remake will also act as a reboot for the franchise. The classic 1997 rail shooter has been rebuilt from the ground up expanding on the original game’s level design, story, and gameplay mechanics.

From the demo, it’s fair to say the graphics look stunning as Fox McCloud et al take on mad scientist Dr Andross and his gang of villains.

This more cinematic art style has proved divisive, though, with some fans criticising Fox's design.

The game supports the Switch 2’s GameChat feature and has a series of compatible Star Fox amiibo characters. There’s also a new 4v4 Battle Mode, which players can compete in online or in local co-op.
