Runner suffers cardiac arrest during Cardiff Half Marathon

A RUNNER collapsed and suffered a cardiac arrest while participating in the Cardiff Half Marathon on Sunday.

A supporter described seeing a young woman collapse in Ninian Park Road as her partner was shouting “please don’t die”.

Run4Wales has confirmed a runner suffered cardiac arrest and said she remains in hospital, where she is recovering.

The runner collapsed as tens of thousands streamed through the streets of Cardiff.
