PLAYERS FINDING IT TOUGH - PEEL
Western Mail
|September 08, 2025
TWO regional coaches have stressed the difficulty players are facing amid the ongoing uncertainty enveloping the game in Wales.
Preseason action finally got under way at the weekend in the midst of the Welsh Rugby Union’s proposals to cut two teams.
All four professional sides were in action on Saturday, just days after the consultation process into the future of the Welsh game began.
Last month the WRU announced plans for the professional game that could see the number of teams halved from four to two.
A final decision is expected at the end of October, with the new United Rugby Championship season kicking-off on the day the official consultation ends.
