Peel’s defiant message to union

SCARLETS head coach Dwayne Peel has issued a defiant message to the Welsh Rugby Union, as he says the region has a “big part” to play in the future of the game in Wales.

The union is currently in a consulta tion period for its proposals for the elite game, which threaten to cut the number of professional men’s sides from four to two, with such a reduction termed by the governing body as its ‘optimal solu tion’ to the current crisis in Welsh rugby.
