‘Our country stands at a fork in the road’ – PM

ITV Cymru Wales showed, from 40% to 14% of the vote share. The top spot in this recent poll put Plaid Cymru top, with Reform UK a close second.

‘Those two parties are jostling for the top spot in a string of recent polls when it comes to Wales.

‘Mr Starmer will today warn that Britain faces a “defining choice” between “decency” and “division”, in his keynote speech to the Labour Party conference.

‘The Prime Minister is expected to use his annual address to expand his attacks on Reform UK, now regarded by Labour as the primary threat to its reelection prospects.

Last week, Mr Starmer told a gathering of progressives in London that the UK faced a “battle for the soul” of the country, a theme he will repeat in Liverpool, where he has already described Reform’s immigration policy as “racist”.
