The right-back was instrumental in the 2-0 win at Wigan on Saturday and it was another fine afternoon for the defender, who has endured a frustrating start to life under the new manager.

His first-half deflected strike gave the Bluebirds the lead before a 96th-minute Yousef Salech penalty wrapped up the points.

It kept Cardiff fourth in the League One table.

Ng suffered an injury on Barry-Murphy's first day in charge, which ruled him out of preseason and denied him the opportunity to impress his new boss.

Cardiff have recorded a decent start to life in League One, and Ng says the victory over the Latics was based on an all-round performance.

"I think the gameplan worked perfectly," he said.
