Many children living in rural Wales will be left without this Christmas and we want to help.

IF YOU'RE out working all day, every day, 365 days a year in all weathers, grafting physically, running your own business with all the pressure that brings, when do you get chance to stop and think about the kids?

About what they need for school, what they’d like to do. When do you think about what you'll get the kids for Christmas?

The answer is, you don’t, not really. And what happens if despite working incredibly hard, the finances just don’t add up?

Having one more thing to think about at this time of the year can make what should be a relaxing time of the year horrifically stressful.

Poverty isn’t just in urban areas, or the places you hear about a lot, it can be hidden in plain sight.

When you look at a farm and see tractors parked in the yard, it’s too easy to assume all is well.

One of the charities we're helping with this year's Western Mail/WalesOnline Christmas appeal is the DPJ Foundation, an amazing charity hugely respected in the agricultural community and beyond.

Your donations, via our Amazon wishlist or via Gofundme, will allow us to give toys and gifts to families across Wales who are struggling.

It was set up by Emma Picton-Jones, from Pembrokeshire, after her husband, Daniel, took his own life.

The story of Emma and her children, of her resilience, of what she has gone on to do to make sure no-one else goes through what Daniel, or her family, went through is amazing and there is no doubt the charity has saved lives with its work as it comes up to a decade of existence.

There are children in this community, in these areas of rural Wales, who deserve something special on Christmas morning and we want to help.

It is also one thing we can all do to show our support to the people who work in all weathers, in all conditions, to put food including a Christmas dinner - on our tables and a worry we can take from the growing burden on their shoulders.
