Leaders draw a blank, but closest rivals fail to take advantage
Western Mail
|October 06, 2025
CARMARTHEN Town held JD Cymru South leaders Cambrian United to a goalless draw.
-
But closest rivals Trefelin couldn't conjure up any goals in their game either, so the gap at the top remains four points.
Trefelin were held at home by Afan Lido, while third-placed Caerau Ely’s home clash with Newport City was called off because of the weather.
Pontypridd United beat Treowen Stars 5-2.
Treowen drew first blood with an eighth-minute goal from Christian Davies.
But it was 2-1 to the home side at the break thanks to goals from Harvey Selway and Tom Hillman.
Two minutes into the second half Jamie Veale made it 3-1.
Ethan Edwards added another on the hour mark before Treowen pulled one back via Lewis Green.
Ponty finished with a flourish with a fifth from Sam Johnson.
The top two in JD Cymru North - Holywell Town and leaders Airbus UK Broughton - fought out a goalless draw.
Clear-cut chances were limited, the weather played its part and both teams emerged with their unbeaten records intact.
