Wales’ health minister explains the importance of investing in diagnostic and treatment equipment
WE'RE investing £45m over the next two years to make sure hospitals across Wales have the state-of-the-art equipment they need to provide faster and more accurate care.
Over the past few months, I’ve announced more than £20m for new diagnostic and treatment equipment.
In north Wales, we've invested £9.49m in two new cancer treatment machines for the North Wales Cancer Treatment Centre.
These Linacs will deliver radiotherapy more precisely and efficiently. These advanced machines target cancer cells accurately, minimising harm to surrounding tissue.
They work faster and more reliably than the older versions, meaning more people will receive lifesaving treatment every week.
