Funding approved to transform former marine terminal

FUNDING for a £10.4m project to transform a former marine terminal building in Anglesey, alongside newly-built commercial space, has been approved.

How the former terminal building at the port of Amlwch will look
Ambition North Wales has agreed the business justification case for the scheme, led by Isle of Anglesey County Council, to refurbish the former Marine Terminal Building at the port of Amlwch, as well as constructing 10 business units at a nearby industrial estate.
The developments are expected to support 95 new jobs, create 23,000 sq ft of new commercial floorspace and provide an economic boost to north Wales of £33.9m by 2036.
The project is being backed by the North Wales Growth Deal.
The project can now move ahead with procurement and completion of the joint venture agreement between Isle of Anglesey County Council and the Welsh Government.
