Flash flood leaves cars underwater

CARS were yesterday left completely submerged under water after heavy rain caused flash flooding.

Footage captured by Sarah Nichols showed a number of cars underwater amid flooding near Cwmbwrla roundabout in Swansea.

It comes after heavy rain has affected many parts of Wales in recent days.

After flooding hit the roundabout yesterday afternoon, South Wales Police said: “We're at the scene of a flood on Cwmbwrla Roundabout, Swansea.

“The roundabout is flooded and is not passable from any approach.

“Vehicles are being diverted to Pentregethin Road.

“It is expected to remain closed for some time; please avoid the area and use alternative routes where possible. We're grateful for your patience”

‘They later said it was likely to remain closed until today. Strong winds were also causing disruption, with wind gust speeds expected to get worse through the evening yesterday.
