Farm ‘kept alive’ by off-grid glamping site that was fully booked as soon as it opened

NEW off-grid campsite just 20 minutes from Cardiff popped up earlier this year, offering a blissful riverside escape.
Launched in April 2025, Garth Glamping is at the foot of wooded Garth Hill and promises a comfy stay in an impressive setting.
With bell tents, a splash of rustic charm and fire pits, the site is fast becoming a go-to for happy campers who want to escape the city without venturing too far.
“We didn’t expect the site to take off as it did’ says owner Jordan Lewis, who runs the site with husband Gerwyn. “We kept selling out”
‘The family-friendly site launched just before Cardiff’s mega summer gig season, and talk about exceptional timing. Fans were scrambling for somewhere affordable to crash near the city, and this secluded glamp site quickly became the hottest spot.
“We were wondering why we were getting booked out over weekends,” Jordan explains. “Then we realised all these concerts were happening in the stadium and the castle, we couldn’t have timed it any better.”
No wonder the bookings were flying in. Grass tent pitches started at just £30 a night, and you could get a spacious five-person bell tent for just £90.
Meanwhile, some Cardiff hotels charged over £900 a night during the Oasis reunion gigs. Fans must've thought they were hallucinating, bagging a place to crash for under £100. With more big gigs on the way to the Welsh capital, the scenic site could see further demand for their affordable pitches.
