Drug-driver in education work ban

TEACHING assistant convicted of driving under the influence of cocaine and cannabis and while over the legal alcohol limit has been struck off the professional register to work in education.
Jessica Picton was stopped by police at the roadside 3.10pm, less than two hours after leaving Clase Primary in Swansea, where she worked with vulnerable children with additional learning needs.
She was arrested, charged and convicted of driving under the influence of controlled drugs and above the legal alcohol limit when she appeared before West Glamorgan Magistrates' Court after being stopped by police on December 11, 2023.
The court issued her with a curfew and electronic tag, a 17-month driving ban and a community order when she pleaded guilty to the offences on June 14, 2024.
She was also required to do rehabilitation activities.
