Drug use, assaults and human waste at tent camp in capital

PEOPLE in one area of Cardiff have become increasingly infuriated with an ongoing battle to remove an illegal encampment in an underpass near the capital's city centre.

Residents have reported feeling annoyed and intimidated as there is consistent antisocial behaviour, rubbish, tents and criminal activity.

There have been a series of tent encampments in the area for at least a year. One on the riverbank by the River Taff was damaged in a serious fire by the Wood Street bridge - but despite being moved on several times, the camp keeps reappearing.

Despite legal proceedings and tents being removed, the individual has repeatedly returned or moved on to new sites further up Taffs Mead Embankment instead.
