Casualty is rescued from burning flat

FIREFIGHTERS rescued a casualty from a burning flat in Chard in the early hours of thursday, June 26.

Devon and Somerset Fire & Rescue service said the alarm was raised shortly after 3am after smoke was seen coming from a first-floor flat.

A spokesperson said: “Control immediately mobilised three fire appliance, two from Chard and one from Axminster with a supporting officer.
