Three arrests at city centre protests

THREE people were arrested at a protest and counter protest in Bristol city centre on Saturday afternoon.

Avon and Somerset Police officers were deployed near the city’s cenotaph, in St Augustine's Parade from 9am, with counter-protesters arriving from 9.30am.
Police reported that one man and one woman were arrested under the Public Order Act on suspicion of using threatening, abusive or insulting words to cause harassment, alarm or distress.
Another man was arrested on suspicion of refusing to abide by section 60AA order to remove a face covering upon request by an office, say the force.
Officers said that all three were in custody and enquiries were ongoing.
