THE productivity of Swindon's workers is, officially, "off the charts".

Figures from the Office of National Statistics show that each hour worked in Swindon in 2023 produced goods and services worth £62.10.
This measure is called gross value added per hour.
Swindon's GVA per hour is, according to the ONS figures, higher than London at £53.96, Reading at £48.50, and much higher than Oxford at £39.90 and Bristol at £36.60. and the England average of £42.39.
