Historic music store's looking to the future

A 122-YEAR-OLD independent shop selling musical instruments is moving out for three years while its home of more than a century is rebuilt.
Family-run Mickleburgh Musical Instruments, in Bristol, will be moving from Stokes Croft into a shop in Clifton for the duration of the project.
The shop, which is home to all sorts of musical instruments - including pianos that can weight up to around half a tonne - will be moving out in a few weeks' time, after having picked up the keys to its new place.
A member of staff confirmed the move last week and added that having to move out all of the shop's stock would be a mammoth task.
The current Mickleburgh shop has survived the Covid-19 pandemic, the growing online shopping market and even wartime bombing, and back in April, our sister website BristolLive reported how the owners were now looking to 'secure the future of the business' with plans to replace its current building in order to offer its customers even more.
