THIS WEEK CHRIS REFLECTS ON THE MEAL AT SORBONNE UNIVERSITY

It's a little-known fact that I actually went to the Sorbonne. It's not something I make anything of: I don't throw it casually into a conversation to cause a ripple of interest or impress people. It doesn't appear on my CV - not that I've had cause to compile one for the past few decades.

And anyway if my assertion were held up for scrutiny and I were invited to provide further and better particulars I should have to confess: I only went there for lunch a couple of times.
