NEW CHIP FROM TECH GIANT BRINGS EVEN MORE SPEED AND EFFICIENCY TO IPAD PRO, MACBOOK PRO AND VISION PRO
APPLE has unleashed the fifth version of its in-house designed chip - and, unsurprisingly, it’s the fastest and most power-efficient yet.
The M5 hit the shops this week, powering new versions of three of Apple’s most high-profile devices.
First up, Apple says the new iPad Pro with M5 is the most advanced iPad experience it’s ever put out there.
The M5 builds on the M4 version that came out last year, and offers the same super-thin design, just with more horsepower under the bonnet.
Compared with the M1 iPad Pro, which came out four years ago, the new iPad Pro is 5.6 times faster.
For the first time in an iPad Pro, there's also the latest Appledesigned C1X modem and the N1 network wireless chip for better networking.
Finally, there's also more memory bandwidth to take advantage of all this power.
There's one big reason for all this horsepower, of course, and that's Apple's desire to keep as much AI processing on the device as possible.
