Villagers rally to buy chapel warning it could become 'another second home'

VILLAGERS fighting to save their chapel after it was put up for sale have warned they don't want "another second home".
The Grade II-listed Lizard Methodist Chapel in Landewednack closed in March and is now on the market for £200,000.
It's described on property website Rightmove as a "conversion opportunity" which could be used for a business or dwelling but locals insist it could be put to better use by the community and are desperately trying to raise the funds to buy it.
"We don't want another second home in our village," said lifelong resident Tamara Rosenwyn, 29, whose family has lived in Landewednack for generations.
"This is a beautiful building; if this gets turned into a private space it will be far out of reach for any locals to afford anyway.
"Our church hall has already been turned into a private house; the chapel on the village green was turned into a private residence some years ago too.
"They're high-end; they're now expensive places local people can't live in," she said.
