Major developments gathering pace within Thu Thiem centre
Vietnam Investment Review
|June 08, 2026
As plans for Thu Thiem’s new administrative centre, central square, and a series of key infrastructure projects gain momentum, several large-scale real estate developments are also accelerating.
The convergence of investment capital, enhanced connectivity, and a new generation of urban projects is bringing the Thu Thiem Peninsula closer to its ambition of becoming Ho Chi Minh City’s new financial, commercial, and service hub.
In late May, Phat Dat Real Estate Development Corporation signed a strategic MoU with Lotte Properties Ho Chi Minh City to advance development of Thu Thiem Eco Smart City, a landmark venture located in the heart of Thu Thiem New Urban Area.
The move comes as Thu Thiem enters a new growth phase, driven by the rollout of major infrastructure works and public facilities.
With a total gross floor area of more than 680,000 square metres, the initiative is planned as a mixed-use development comprising luxury residences, office space, retail and commercial facilities, hotels, and public spaces. This integrated development model aligns with the vision of transforming Thu Thiem into a modern financial, commercial, and service hub for the region.
The renewed momentum behind the smart city reflects a broader wave of investment activity unfolding across the Thu Thiem peninsula. After years of uneven development, the area is gaining fresh impetus from a series of strategic infrastructure projects, plans for a new administrative centre, and Ho Chi Minh City’s ambition to establish an international financial centre.
