King Charles gets on board with Thames Tideway as project comes to an end

THE King light-heartedly warned workers of an impending “humongous horror” of rain during a trip to London's new super sewer.

His Majesty dropped by the Thames Tideway Tunnel on Wednesday, May 7, to celebrate the wrap-up of the decade-long project, aimed at safeguarding the River Thames from sewage pollution.
Spanning 25km, this colossal sewer is set to intercept, store and eventually channel away sewage waste from the Thames, boasting a capacity of 1.6 million metres squared.
Tideway has announced that the super sewer will slash sewage pollution into the river by 95%, with Thames Water taking the reins to manage the system within its London wastewater network.
