Sickness benefit bill to hit £70bn
LABOUR has pledged to help people on sickness and disability benefits get back to work - vowing to restore trust in the system.
Work and Pensions Secretary Liz Kendall said the bill for the payments will surge from £45billion a year to £70bn by 2030 without big changes.
That is a third of the NHS budget and three times the policing budget.
