Top Gear's Quentin dead at 68

Motoring journalist's cancer hell

CELEBRATED former Top Gear presenter and Sunday Mirror motoring columnist Quentin Willson died yesterday after a short battle with lung cancer.

The motoring journalist, who also fronted rival telly show Fifth Gear on Channel 5, was 68.

Wife Michaela and grownup kids Mercedes, Max and Mini said in a statement: "Quentin brought the joy of motoring, from combustion to electric, into our living rooms.

"He helped shape the original Top Gear as one of its first hosts, working alongside Jeremy Clarkson, and the team who took the pioneering show global.
