Gold for men's eights and bronze for our women

- JEREMY ARMSTRONG

» Medals too for Jake, Emma and dressage trio.

OARSOME brother and sister Tom and Emily Ford rowed their way to medals as Team GB’s great run continued yesterday.

They led the charge to continue our best ever start to the Olympics.

imageAnd their twin brothers - also rowers - jumped for joy in the stands as they watched Emily, 29, win bronze in the women's eight crew, before Tom, 31, grabbed men's eight gold.

It meant we scooped a gold and four bronze medals on Day Eight. Last night our male and female runners did us proud in the mixed 4 x 400 relay. Samuel Reardon, Laviai Nielsen, Alex HaydockWilson and Amber Anning won our first track medal - a bronze in the mixed 4x400m relay. Earlier in the day it was the end of an era for Max Whitlock our greatest gymnast who won gold in Rio. He just missed a medal on the pommel.
