Aidan bags a Leger hat-trick... next stop glory Down Under!
SCANDINAVIA could head for Australasia after giving Aidan O'Brien a ninth victory - and a hat-trick - in the Betfred St Leger at Doncaster.
Sent off the 2-1 favourite for the final Classic of 2025, Tom Marquand’s mount cut out the early running with stablemate, and dual Derby hero, Lambourn.
The market leader looked in trouble as compatriot Carmers and then Stay True, a third Ballydoyle runner, came with runs in the straight.
But Scandinavia kept answering Marquand’s pleas and, while 14-1 shot Rahiebb came from the back with one final challenge, a neck separated the pair at the line.
Stay True took third, a length-and-a-half away, with an additional length-and-a-quarter back to Lambourn.
