LIONEL MESSI will face his most recent former employers Paris Saint-Germain this afternoon (UK time) with a huge point to prove.

The 38-year-old Inter Miami star had two years at PSG - but even one of football's all-time greats at the head of a star-studded team could not bring the French giants the European crown.

Messi (above) scored 32 times and assisted 35 goals in his 75 appearances for PSG before moving to Inter Miami.

Fast-forward two years and PSG boss Luis Enrique finally delivered the Champions League, proving you can win European football's biggest prize without needing the biggest names.
