Bloomfield just gobsmacked as late strike finally lifts his battlers out of drop zone

- Greg Adams

MATT AS A HATTER

MATT BLOOMFIELD was almost lost for words after his Luton side enjoyed a 90th-minute 1-0 victory against Coventry that kept their survival hopes alive.

It looked like they would be held to a frustrating stalemate as they had been playing against 10 men since Jay Dasilva was sent off in the 13th minute.

Hatters midfielder Liam Walsh was also shown red midway through the second period.

But as the clock was about to tick into 90 minutes, Shandon Baptiste’s effort somehow got past Sky Blues defender Luis Binks on the line to ensure Town will be out of the bottom three going into the final weekend.

Bloomfield said: “If you're asking me to sum it up I'm going to struggle, it was a whole range of emotions and a lovely moment for Shandon.

“It's tough when the game changes so early, it's a completely different game to the one we expected.

“Maybe in the first half it wasn't quite what we wanted it to be.

It must grate. Sir Jim has to pay £16million to 'foreign workers' that caused expensive chaos while Carrick is inexpensive normality ... we know which one United need right now

CONSIDERING he objects to the United Kingdom being \"colonised by immigrants\", it is a touch ironic that Sir Jim Ratcliffe is having to set aside the best part of £16million to pay off a small group of foreign workers.
