MARO EYES SWEEP... AS ANGRY HOSTS GROW GRUDGE
The Sunday Mirror
|July 27, 2025
BRITISH & IRISH LIONS skipper Maro Itoje insisted the job is not done despite clinching the Test series here while angry Australia have found a new grudge to settle.
Itoje and his team-mates will make history at the third and final Test in Sydney next Saturday if they can land a ninth win of this tour to be the first Lions side since 1927 to deliver a campaign clean sweep.
Aussie hearts were broken at the MCG a traditional graveyard for England's Ashes hopes - and their series dreams are over.
But Itoje had already warned the Lions wanted to win every game when they came Down Under and that is still the plan.
He said: "When we met for the first time in London or Dublin, Andy Farrell made the call. He wants us to go out here and win.
