WITH her deadpan sense of humour and witty asides, she quickly became a favourite in the Jungle.

I was so close to quitting

But despite her happy-go-lucky exterior, GK Barry has opened up about how it was so tough she was on the brink of quitting the show after two weeks.

In her only interview following her exit from I'm A Celebrity, GK - whose real name is Grace Keeling - reveals she had to summon every last bit of willpower to remain on the show.

And she credits her friendship with the Reverend Richard Coles as the turning point in her wanting to stay on.

She says: "I was struggling before the Reverend came in. I'd go to the Bush Telegraph and have a good old cry.

"I often put on a smile because the camp needed my positivity, but there were some impossibly hard days. We were all feeling it, especially when the weather and rain was so extreme." One day last week, just shy of a fortnight in, proved particularly difficult.

The influencer and podcaster says: "It felt like I'd been there for about a year, and I was like, I'm really struggling. I might need to quit the show. I don't like living outside, I don't like showering in the cold, and I never want to see rice and beans again. I was missing Ella (her girlfriend) and my family so much too." She went into the Bush Telegraph room to talk openly to producers about whether or not she could move past these deep feelings.
