Grieving mum's mission to keep kids safe

- BY SUE LEE

CAROLINE Willgoose is convinced her late son was put on this Earth for a reason - to help others and make a difference.

That's why the mum-of-three is determined to carry on her campaign to combat knife crime in his name.

Harvey Willgoose was just 15 when he was stabbed to death at school in February. Another 15-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was found guilty of his murder on Friday.

Now, as Caroline reflects on her nomination for a Pride of Britain Award, she is sure her “cheeky chappy” son is right beside her as she pushes for a raft of measures to ensure his death was not in vain.

ACTION

Caroline says: “Harvey never wanted people arguing, he wanted people to come together. That's what we want from this campaign and I feel he won't let me stop until we've achieved what we've set out to do.

“He's there, saying, ‘Keep going, keep going’. I know he wants me to get the message out. And I will.”
