Probe panel seeks statements from affected persons

The Commission of Inquiry investigating the police killing of Akshay Shinde, the accused in the Badlapur school sexual assault case, has called for statements from individuals who are "personally acquainted" with or affected by the incident.

This appeal was made by the Justice Dilip Bhosale Commission of Inquiry in a notification released on Saturday.
In August, 2 young girls, aged four and five, were reportedly sexually assaulted by Shinde, an attendant at a school in Badlapur, located in Thane district. Following his arrest, Shinde was shot dead by police during an alleged shoot-out on September 23.
