Although the Axiom-4 was a private mission, ISRO monitored this mission from very close quarters. This mission was successful on all accounts as the desired objectives set in terms of preparing India’s astronauts for a human spaceflight experience were realized successfully.

The Mission Axiom-4 is complete. The year 2025 would be remembered in the history of India’s space program for this mission.

On July 15, 2025, the SpaceX Dragon spacecraft safely returned back to earth. From an Indian standpoint, this mission was significant because of the scientific experiments to be conducted by the Indian astronaut, Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla at the International Space Station were successfully executed. ‘The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) in collaboration with a handful of scientific institutions across India had designed and developed a suite of seven microgravity experiments. These experiments were primarily aimed at enhancing the understanding of the human spaceflight and microgravity science.

The experiments ranged from exploring algal growth to crop viability, cognitive performance in space to cyanobacteria behaviour and muscle regeneration to microbial survivability. To elaborate a bit further, the microbial survivability experiment on space microalgae was designed by the collaboration of ICGEB (International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology) and BRIC-NIPGR (Biotechnology Research and Innovation Council-National Institute of Plant Genome Research). This experiment was about observing the growth and radiation response of edible algae. Similarly, the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru was involved in designing microgravity experiments on tardigrade to check their resilience and ageing patterns. ITT Dharwad was instrumental in designing Microgravity experiment on the growth of methi and moong.

EXTERMINATE MOSQUITOES TO ERADICATE EIGHT DEADLY DISEASES

Till now, Iceland, with a harsh, unique climate and geographical isolation, was the only country in the world that was completely free of mosquitoes. Three mosquitoes were found in the Kjos valley in October 2025. Scientists blamed rising temperatures due to climate change and increased travel for these arrivals. Mosquitoes are vectors for deadly diseases like malaria, dengue, chikungunya, Japanese encephalitis, Zika, yellow fever, West Nile virus fever, and filariasis. In 2023, there were an estimated 263 million malaria cases and 597,000 deaths globally. World Malaria Day on 25 April and National Dengue Day on May 16th in India highlight the need for public education, continued investment, and sustained political commitment for prevention and control measures, especially before the monsoon season. ‘Chikungunya' means \"to become contorted,\" (due to severe joint pains) in the Kimakonde language in Tanzania and Mozambique.

The House of Mr Vance

Religious conversions have entirely different connotations for Hindus due to the coercive, including violent, nature of both Islamic and Christian proselytizing in the Indian subcontinent. In Western liberal societies, such as the US, however, religious conversions do not evoke the same response.

WELFARE DELIVERY, MODI FACTOR PROPELLING NDA IN BIHAR POLLS

The Bihar elections opened with opposition parties confident that Nitish Kumar's long incumbency and public fatigue courtesy his 20 years of rule would translate into a difficult contest for the NDA. In the early phase of campaigning, this seemed plausible. The same feeling was also shared by top National Democratic Alliance leaders while interacting with journalists privately, including by two senior BJP Union Ministers, who spoke to this correspondent before and after the poll schedule was announced.
