The Dreamcatcher is an experiment in storytelling and horror

There is visceral horror aplenty in this immersive experience that fuses theatre with the sleuthing of an escape room game.

- Clement Yong

The more Holmesian among audiences, or in this case “agents”, will have plenty of Easter eggs to go on as they weft and warp their way among the detailed set.

But those more passive, like this reviewer, will also have no paucity of stellar performances to enjoy, chief among which is the Gothic choreography of the multi-hatting Tan Rui Shan.

Written and directed by Krish Natarajan, this is the fourth iteration of Sight Lines Productions’ Crack The Case series, which wants to subvert what theatre means and reach out to fresh audiences.

The playground this time is the surreal, glitching mindscape of alleged terrorist Kamil Noor (Fahim Murshed). The fruit bio-engineer of the loosely pseudonymised parallel nation Ikanpura is strapped to a chair on death row, having planted some sort of device.
