ATP Finals champion will work on °small details, and mentality ahead of 2025 season
-
Iannik Sinner says he still has areas where he can improve in 2025 after winning the ATP Finals for the first time on Nov 17 to cap "an incredible season" for the world No. 1.
The 23-year-old beat Taylor Fritz 6-4, 6-4 at the season-ending event in Turin, his eighth title of a remarkable season, which began with a first Grand Slam triumph at the Australian Open.
He followed that up with a second Major victory at the US Open in September after becoming embroiled in a doping controversy having twice tested positive for traces of the steroid clostebol six months earlier.
A World Anti-Doping Agency (Wada) appeal against his initial exoneration has since been hanging over his head, with Wada seeking a ban of up to two years for the Italian.
While Sinner awaits the outcome of that case, he is looking ahead to 2025 with no specific goals in mind but a view to further honing his game - an ominous warning to rivals given that he has won 26 of his last 27 matches.
