SIA, Scoot, Cathay Pacific cancel flights to and from Hong Kong

Singapore Airlines, its budget arm Scoot, and Cathay Pacific have cancelled flights to and from Hong Kong as Super Typhoon Ragasa approaches the city.

This comes as Hong Kong International Airport is expected to be closed for 36 hours from 8pm on Sept 23 to 8am on Sept 25, according to a statement by Qantas on Sept 22.

SIA has also cancelled flights to and from airports in Shenzhen in southern China scheduled for Sept 23 and Sept 24, and rescheduled some flights to and from Hong Kong.

In a statement on Sept 22, the airline said Flight SQ898 from Singapore to Hong Kong scheduled for Sept 23 has been cancelled.

Two SIA flights have been rescheduled to take off earlier.

Flight SQ894 from Singapore, which was due to land in Hong Kong on Sept 23, has been rescheduled to depart at 11.05am instead of 1.05pm.

Flight SQ895 from Hong Kong, which was due to land in Singapore on Sept 23, has been rescheduled to depart at 4.30pm instead of 6.50pm.
