LONDON – Enzo Maresca has backed Chelsea to cope with the pressure of their do-or-die showdown with Nottingham Forest as the race for Champions League places reaches a dramatic climax on May 25.
Maresca's men head to the City Ground knowing a victory over Forest should be enough to seal their return to Europe's elite club competition.
With the top five guaranteed Champions League qualification for next season, fifth-placed Chelsea are above Aston Villa on goal difference and sit one point clear of seventh-placed Forest.
After missing out on Champions League action for the past two seasons, the Blues are desperate to get back among Europe's elite. But Forest, who last played in the continent's top club competition in 1980-81, still have a chance of qualifying as well, making the stakes even higher at the sold-out City Ground this weekend.
