Chipotle Mexican Grill eyes expansion in Asia with Singapore debut

Famed American chain Chipotle Mexican Grill, known for its fast-casual restaurants specializing in customizable burritos, burrito bowls and tacos, is set to debut in Singapore and South Korea in 2026.
This marks the brand's first expansion into Asia, via a joint venture with South Korea-based food company SPC Group, announced the group in a statement to The Straits Times.
This follows news of several famed fast-food establishments slated to open in Singapore, including American chain Chick-fil-A and South Korean burger chain Lotteria.
Other brands here that already offer a similar style of Mexican cuisine include Australia's Guzman y Gomez and halal-certified home-grown chain Stuff'd.
In Singapore, SPC Group runs bakery chain Paris Baguette and American burger chain Shake Shack.
Back in South Korea, SPC Group - which owns 30 brands and operates 7,000 stores worldwide - has introduced other global brands to the domestic market. These include ice cream specialist Baskin-Robbins, doughnut chain Dunkin' and juice bar chain Jamba.
Founded in the United States in 1993, Chipotle operates more than 3,800 locations across seven countries, including France, Germany and Canada.
